Dear Visiting Athletic Trainer, We would like to welcome you to St. Mary's College of Maryland. As you make your travel arrangements, we would like to inform you of what will be available to your team. The team rooms and the athletic training room are located in the hallway running along side the arena. In the athletic training room, your athletes will have access to ice, moist heat and whirlpools. Electrical stimulation and ultrasound will be provided if accompanied by a certified athletic trainer. If your team is traveling with a student athletic trainer, they will be able to use electrical stimulation and ultrasound as long as a letter signed by a doctor or certified athletic trainer accompanies them with the athlete’s name and the specific treatment he/she will need. Due to time and staff restraints, if your team will be traveling without a certified athletic trainer or student athletic trainer, we will not be able to provide any stim or ultrasound. Please call two days prior to inform us of any special needs your team may have. During the game, your team will be provided with water, ice, and cups. No towels will be provided. There will be an AED either at the site of competition or within a two-minute response time. Splints, crutches and other first aid equipment will be available as necessary. In the event of having to clear the competition area because of lightning, the following buildings will be used: |
