Sarah Tipsword begins her second year on the St. Mary’s athletic training staff as an assistant to Jim Cranmer, the Seahawks head athletic trainer. Tipsword arrived on the St. Mary’s City campus in August of 2006 following the completion of her master’s of science in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania.
During her one-year stint in California, Pa., she was assigned to the Burgettstown School District in charge of 18 sports that included volleyball, football, basketball, wrestling, softball, baseball, and track. She worked with all levels as Tipsword covered seventh/eighth graders, junior varsity and varsity squads.
A graduate of Frostburg State University, she earned her bachelor in Athletic Training in December of 2004. As a student at Frostburg, Tipsword was assigned to work with football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse and softball.
Tipsword holds membership in the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and currently resides in White Plains, Maryland.| On The Sidelines |
