Jim Cranmer has been the head athletic trainer at St. Mary's since December 1999. During the 2003-04 academic year, Cranmer was given additional duties as he acquired the role of compliance coordinator for the entire athletic department.
Cranmer currently serves as the chair of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Sports Medicine Committee.
A 1991 graduate of Whittier College, he went to Humboldt State University in Arcata, California where Cranmer served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s basketball programs from 1991 to 1993.
After leaving Humboldt State, he worked for Warren High School in Downey, California for a year. Cranmer then moved on to work for the Los Angeles Dodgers from July 1994 until his arrival at St. Mary's.
While with the Dodgers, he worked with Short Season A in Yakima, Washington, Long Season A in San Bernardino, California and Double-A in San Antonio, Texas.
Cranmer and his wife, Devonnah, currently reside in Leonardtown, Maryland.
