The 2009 season will mark Chris Hasbrouck's first season at the helm of the Seahawk men's lacrosse program after serving as assistant coach for the past two seasons. Hasbrouck was promoted to head coach following the resignation of Jayme Block who left to work in the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at Salisbury University.

The Suffern, N.Y. native brings a wealth of experience to St. Mary’s, having been a part of two storied men’s lacrosse programs at Salisbury and Division II powerhouse, Limestone College, for 13 years.

In his two seasons as a Seahawk assistant, Hasbrouck helped SMCM to a two-year mark of 19-14, including a 12-6 mark in 2007. He also helped coach two conference rookies-of-the-year as the Seahawk offensive coordinator. Hasbrouck helped to guide St. Mary’s to an average of 10.53 goals per game in 2008, ranking 44th in Division III out of 144. In his first year, St. Mary’s advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) title game.

Hasbrouck served as the head coach at Limestone for two seasons before joining the St. Mary’s athletic staff in September of 2006. He led the Saints to a two-year mark of 26-7, winning the Deep South Conference title both years. LC finished as national runner-up in 2005 with a 15-2 mark after falling 14-13 (OT) to New York Institute of Technology. That same year, the Saints set NCAA Division II scoring records for goals (338) and points (520), while finishing the season with five All-America selections. Hasbrouck also earned 2005 U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II National Coach-of-the-Year honors, while Roger Vyse broke the 34-year-old Division II single-season record for goals with 71.

Prior to coaching at Limestone, Hasbrouck was the head assistant at Salisbury for 11 seasons. He served as the Sea Gulls’ offensive coordinator and played a key role in recruiting, practice planning, and implementing the game plan. During his tenure at Salisbury, the Sea Gulls played in six national championships and claimed five of them.

He also did a four-year stint as the head boys’ lacrosse coach at Easton H.S. in Easton, Maryland, being named The Star Democrat’s Coach-of-the-Year in 1991 and 1993.

Hasbrouck graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's in physical education in 1995 from Salisbury. He then pursued his master’s at Salisbury , completing his master’s in education in 1997.
